MATERIALS & TECHNOLOGIES

We support sustainable innovation

The primary objective of CESAP is specialized training on technologies and transformation processes of plastic materials and polymers in general, aimed at all professionals in the supply chain: from raw material producers to transformers and machinery manufacturers.

The training courses are held at various levels:

  • the “basic” courses are aimed at operators with minimal experience or those who are starting to enter the sector of transformation and marketing of plastics.
  • the “in-depth” courses are aimed at already expert figures who intend to deepen specific and more complex problems on materials, processes, design, applications, machines, etc.
  • through tailor-made training it is possible to design personalized sessions or courses, even within the company, in which to deepen topics of specific interest or expand programs by adding case studies relevant to the specific company situation.

Basically, Cesap offers a compendium of theoretical notions and practical demonstrations on board the machine in its Plastics Smart Hub 4.0, useful for discovering all the secrets of the

  • injection molding of thermoplastic materials and elastomeric materials
  • extrusion of thermoplastic materials

All systems are inspired by Industry 4.0 logic and are interconnected through an advanced MES solution, in a true reproduction of real portions of a factory. Thanks to prestigious partnerships, other technologies are also studied in depth, both the more specialized ones and those useful for completing the production and assembly process of plastic and rubber products.

Great attention is paid to the product and mold design process, also assisted by FEM and CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) methodologies, for the definition of the optimal mold-press solution in relation to the geometry and material of the product and the volumes to be made.

In the field of materials study we focus on the main characteristics of polymeric materials (both plastic and elastomeric) and on their multiple applications, also dealing with the additive and coloring techniques of materials with reference to the most recent national and international standards (UNI standards).

Of great relevance are the in-depth courses of the REACH regulation and the RoHS Directive, of the duties and exclusions of the various subjects in the supply chain regarding the necessary compliance, to also seize new opportunities for one’s own manufacturing reality.

Sessions dedicated to Circular Economy cannot be missed, which explore the main tools to be used to support sustainable product and process innovation, focusing on regulations and requirements relating to secondary raw materials obtained by recycling plastic materials, through waste treatment. from post-consumer and / or industrial waste.

Finally, the session dedicated to Ecodesign is innovative, with the aim of learning how to design with an efficient use of resources, materials and processes, minimizing the amount of waste generated, improving durability and repairability and increasing the recyclability of the products themselves. In this sense, the use of the LCA methodology (Life Cycle Assessment, an internationally standardized procedure according to ISO 14040 and 14044) for the assessment of the total impact with the environment is of great help.
